IVF and fertility services
Our team understand how you might be feeling. Coping with fertility difficulties isn’t easy. You may feel that hardly a month goes by without yet another friend or member of your family announcing the joyful news that they are expecting a baby.
Infertility is a difficult challenge both medically and emotionally. However, with our fertility service at The Wolfson Fertility Centre, Hammersmith Hospital, you can be safe in the knowledge that we will be with you at every step of your individual journey.
About our fertility services
We are recognised for our welcoming and respectful attitude to all patients who come to our clinics. Whether you are a couple, a single woman looking to get pregnant, a single person looking to preserve your fertility or a couple in an LGBT relationship looking to start a family, and no matter how complex your situation is – our staff will support you with their expert knowledge and compassion.
“The staff have always been warm and helpful, and this has smoothed a painful process.”
“Very caring staff.”
“Great service, everyone is so friendly.”
“We felt well informed and well looked after.”
We offer outstanding clinical care with consistently high IVF success rates.
Being part of an internationally renowned NHS Trust offers tremendous benefits to our patients. It means we can offer you world-class expert care alongside a seamless transfer to or support from other hospital departments if your situation requires it.
It also means that we work closely with the department of endocrinology at Hammersmith Hospital, who can offer expert advice regarding hormonal concerns.
In addition, our close academic links with Imperial College London means we use the latest technology and provide opportunities for clinical trials and research. We are a highly ethical organisation and will never advise you to undertake any treatments that we don’t believe will give you the best possible chance of having a baby of your own.
Our clinic was established by Professor, Lord Robert Winston in 1982. It is one of the largest fertility services in the UK, and we are renowned for the first in vitro fertilisation (IVF) birth in London.
We have a long history and an enviable reputation for innovative fertility services for example, we were pioneers in the development of a technique called pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). PGD treatment is specifically for couples who carry an inherited genetic defect that could cause health risks to their children.
