ABOUT HAMMERSMITH HOSPITAL

The Robert & Lisa Sainsbury Wing at Hammersmith Hospital is a dedicated private facility  within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

The hospital specialises in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, gynaecology, haematology, oncology, kidney and liver conditions and general clinical services. We are renowned for our  world-class consultants and clinical research which ensures you will receive the highest standards of care.

Many  consultants practice at Hammersmith whilst undertaking clinical and medical research at Imperial College, London. GETTING TO HAMMERSMITH HOSPITAL

Travel by Train

The nearest tube station to Hammersmith Hospital is East Acton (Central Line), which is approximately a 15 minute walk away. The hospital can also be reached from White City (Central line) or from Shepherd’s Bush overground station

By Road

Hammersmith Hospital can be easily accessed from the A40. We do, however, recommend that you come to the hospital by public transport or taxi due to limited parking. However, please bring plenty of change for car parking if you choose to drive yourself, as all parking is pay and display or metered.

There are a number of parking spaces for disabled badge holders and parking is free for badge holders in any of the available spaces.

From Airports

If you are travelling from overseas, London is well served by airports.

London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is 14 miles (23km) from the hospital and takes approximately 45 minutes by taxi. Alternatively, the London Underground can be taken from Heathrow to Acton Town (Piccadilly line) which in turn is only fifteen minutes from the hospital by taxi.

London Gatwick Airport (LGW) is approximately 31 miles (52km) from the hospital and takes around 1 ½ hours by taxi, depending on the time of travel. London Gatwick is not served by the Underground network but there is an express train service available to Victoria Station, which will get passengers in to central London in approximately 35 minutes. Please allow for onwards travelling.

London City Airport (LCY) is 15 miles (23km) from Hammersmith Hospital, which takes approximately one hour in a taxi. London City Airport terminal connects with the overland railway known as the Dockland Light Railway (DLR) which connects with London Underground.

Stansted and Luton airport are also within two hours journey from central London.
