The Thames View at Charing Cross Hospital is a dedicated private facility providing care for private patients within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

At The Thames View, you can be seen by the consultant of your choice, who will work within a wider team of specialists (including nurses, therapists, radiologists, physiotherapists or other related specialisms) to make recommendations to you about your care. This multidisciplinary team will ensure that any treatment is carefully tailored to your own specific needs.

During your stay you will receive outstanding care by a dedicated team of friendly staff, who will make you feel right at home. You will stay in modern, private en suite rooms equipped with a satellite TV offering both UK and international channels. You can also enjoy all the amenities that you would expect from a top private hospital, including a daily newspaper, complimentary toiletries and a free wi-fi service. We also offer a variety of additional services for our overseas visitors, including translators, foreign-language newspapers and a multi-faith worship room.

Throughout your stay, you can order from a range of delicious menu options that include vegetarian, halal and kosher meals. With the exception of some specific clinical dietary requirements, talented chefs prepare all meals to order on site.

Travel by Train

The nearest underground stations to the Thames View are Hammersmith (Hammersmith & City, Piccadilly, District and Circle lines) and Baron’s Court (Piccadilly/District). It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk from either station to the hospital, or there are buses from the stations.

Charing Cross Hospital can also be reached by travelling to Putney mainline station and then taking a bus towards Fulham Palace Road.

By Road

Charing Cross hospital can be reached via the A40. We recommend that you come to the hospital by taxi or public transport, as parking is limited. However, please bring plenty of change for car parking if you choose to drive yourself. Parking on the hospital site is currently £2.00 per hour.

There are a number of parking spaces for disabled badge holders at the hospital and parking is free for badge holders in any of the available spaces.

From Airports

If you are travelling from overseas, London is well served by airports.

London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is 13 miles from the hospital and takes approximately 40 minutes by taxi. Alternatively, the London Underground can be taken from Heathrow to either of the two nearest underground stations (Hammersmith or Baron’s Court). It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk from either station to the hospital, or there are buses from the stations.

London Gatwick Airport (LGW) is approximately 34 miles from the hospital and takes around one hour by taxi, depending on the time of travel. London Gatwick is not served by the Underground network but there is an express train service available to Victoria Station, which will get passengers in to London in approximately 35 minutes. Please allow for onwards travelling.

Stansted is 45 miles (72km) from the hospital, which takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes in a taxi. The Stansted express train goes directly from the airport to Liverpool Street tube station in 47 minutes. Please allow for onwards journey time by tube.

London City airport and Luton airport are also within two hours journey from central London.
