New fertility and IVF service launched by Imperial Private Healthcare

Imperial Private Healthcare is now providing a comprehensive fertility and IVF service for private patients at its Hammersmith Hospital site in London.

The fertility service, based at the Wolfson Fertility Centre, provides a full range of IVF services for patients who choose to have their treatment privately, or whose personal circumstances are not always covered by the NHS, including single women and couples in LGBT relationships.

The centre includes a state-of-the-art embryology laboratory, which has recently benefitted from a £500,000 equipment upgrade. Patients are also able to access the services of Imperial College Healthcare Trust, a major London NHS teaching hospital, alongside their world-class expert care, allowing seamless transfers to, or support from, other hospital departments if required. This includes the department of endocrinology at Hammersmith Hospital who can provide expert advice on any possible hormonal contributions to infertility.

The service is headed up by Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology accredited consultant Mr Rehan Salim and patients will also receive full support throughout their fertility journey from a specialist fertility counsellor. In addition, the service has close links with Imperial College London, meaning that patients will be able to access ground-breaking treatment options as soon as they become readily available.

Mr Salim said: “We are delighted to be able to offer such a comprehensive private fertility service for our patients alongside the existing NHS offer at Hammersmith Hospital. The service means we can offer the same first class support to a greater variety of patients experiencing challenges with fertility.”

The fertility service will be holding a series of open days over the coming months for potential patients to meet with the team and learn more.
