Biography

Tessa Fayers is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, working at the Western Eye Hospital, Marylebone (adults) and St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington (children). She specialises in Oculoplastic (eyelid), Lacrimal (tear duct) and Cataract surgery as well as General Ophthalmology and Emergency Eye Care. She graduated with Honours from Bristol University Medical School, including a First Class Honours Bsc in Psychology, for which she was awarded a Wolfson Foundation award. She also won awards from the Institute of Medical Ethics and the Bristol Medico-Chirurgical Society. Ms Fayers trained at major London teaching hospitals including St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital, the Western Eye Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. She did more than two years of subspecialist fellowship training in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery at the world-renowned Moorfield’s Eye Hospital, London and at the prestigious University of British Colombia, Vancouver, Canada, for which she was awarded a TFC Frost Fellowship as well as research awards from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and St Thomas’ Hospital.
