Biography

Mr. Gareth Jones is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon and Clinical Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics at Imperial College London – a role that enables him to combine his cutting-edge research with clinical practice. He is a knee specialist, with the treatment of soft-tissue knee injuries and knee osteoarthritis being the focus of both his clinical and academic work.

Training Background: Gareth graduated from Imperial College London in 2003, with a 1st Class Honours degree in Physiology, and a Medical Degree with distinction. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training at Imperial College in 2017. During this time he was also awarded a PhD for his research into smaller, joint preserving, procedures to treat knee osteoarthritis, and the use of personalised 3D printed guides to improve the accuracy of knee surgery.

Knee Sub-specialist Fellowship Training: Gareth completed three highly competitive and prestigious fellowships. The first learning specialist knee replacement techniques, including same-day knee replacement surgery, at two famous orthopaedic centres in the USA with Dr. A. Lombardi and Dr. M. Berend. The second with some of the most pre-eminent knee surgeons in Denmark, France, Italy and Germany. The third a one year sub-specialist high volume soft-tissue and joint replacement knee fellowship at Guy’s and St.Thomas’ Hospitals, London.
