Mr Christos Tsironis was born in Thessaloniki, in Greece. He acquired the Degree (Ptychio) in Medicine at the University of Ioannina School of Medicine, in 2004. Mr Tsironis completed his training in General Surgery and acquired the Qualification of Medical Specialty in General Surgery in 2014 in Greece. During his training, he acquired his MSc in HPB Surgery (Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery), in the Department of Medicine, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. In 2014 he moved permanently to London and was appointed as Senior Clinical Fellow in the Department of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in May 2014. He then undertook the Fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at Imperial Weight Centre, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in October 2014. In October 2015, he was appointed as locum Consultant in General Surgery at St Mary’s Hospital. Mr Tsironis was finally appointed in his current post in 2017, as substantive Consultant General, Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon at St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2017. Since April 2018 he has been the Lead for Acute Surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He is a trainer in advanced laparoscopic skills courses and faculty in trauma courses (DSTS, ATLS).
