Dr Christine Ekechi, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital, specialises in maternity and obstetric care, early pregnancy and acute gynaecology. Using her experience in ultrasound, Dr Ekechi’s focus is on the provision of woman-centred, accessible and high quality care convenient to the busy lifestyles that women lead and targeted towards the safety of pregnant women and their newborns.

Dr Ekechi is a nationally respected healthcare leader and champion for equality and safety in women’s health. Using her skills in communication and education, Dr Ekechi is passionate about delivering the best care for all women through pregnancy and beyond. Dr Ekechi concentrates on providing clear and informed information that women can use to make the best health decisions for themselves and their families.

Safety, choice and quality underpins the care that Dr Ekechi delivers to all of her patients and women through their pregnancy journeys. Dr Ekechi is the co-chair of the RCOG race equality taskforce, medical ambassador for the gynaecology charity the Eve Appeal and medical advisor for the maternity safety charity, Baby Lifeline. Dr Ekechi is also the lead for maternity guidelines at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Dr Ekechi graduated from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Medical School and holds a masters’ degree from The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her public health experience includes working with the UN, UNICEF, and national governments in the UK, Nigeria, Senegal, Malawi and Kenya.

Her qualifications include BSCCP, MSc, MRCOG, BMedSci and MBBS.

Dr Ekechi delivers care from The Lindo Wing, Stanley Clayton and The Robert & Lisa Sainsbury’s Wing.
