Mr Chadwan Al Yaghchi

Mr Chadwan Al Yaghchi is a consultant otolaryngologist at the National Centre for Airway Reconstruction and Imperial Voice and Swallowing Centre. He completed his higher surgical training in ear, nose and throat (ENT) in the London North Thames regional rotation.
During his training he developed a specialist interest in laryngology (throat disorders) with a specialist interest in airway stenosis (narrowing of the airway) and dysphagia (swallowing disorders). He visited various international centres including a visiting fellowship to UC Davies Center for Voice and Swallowing, Sacramento, USA. In addition to his adult service, he is an honorary consultant at The Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust where he manages children with complex airway, respiratory and swallowing conditions.
Mr Al Yaghchi is a founding member of the British Laryngological Association and has served on the council since 2013. He is currently the associate honorary treasurer.
Biography
Mr Zaid Awad completed his higher surgical training in otolaryngology in north London. He then spent a year as a head and neck surgery fellow in Adelaide, Australia, to gain advanced skills in head and neck cancer surgery and robotics. He visited many renowned international units to further enhance his knowledge and skills in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery.
He is competent in managing all adult and childrenear, nose and throat (ENT) related conditions and has a special interest in treating head and neck cancer and its impact on quality of life. Mr Awad was elected president of the Association of Otolaryngologists in Training in the UK from 2013 to 2015, as well as being the Specialty Training Committee trainee representative in North Thames from 2012 to 2014.
He served as a member of the Specialty Advisory Committee in Otolaryngology, ENT-UK Council, National Selection Committee for higher surgical training, the Intercollegiate Examination Board and the Joint Committee of Surgical Training simulation work group.

Biography
Whilst studying medicine at Bristol University, Mr Elliot Benjamin developed an interest in ear, nose and throat, spending his elective at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital. He gained excellent general ENT training and developed a sub-specialty interest in paediatrics and otology on the Thames ENT training programme. He has gone on to study under world experts at the House Ear Institute, Los Angeles, USA and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK. As well as a first class honours BSc degree and being awarded honours for his undergraduate medical qualification, Mr Benjamin went on to gain the MRCS and the FRCS (ORL-HNS) as well as the DLO and several postgraduate prizes. He has published numerous peer-reviewed original scientific papers, as well as many abstracts, historical articles and reviews. He has presented work at national and international meetings covering all aspects of ENT. Mr Benjamin has conducted numerous audits and has been involved in running the National Myringoplasty Audit in his role on the EAR UK otology database group. He continues to be heavily involved and enjoys teaching at all levels including students, GPs, nurses and surgeons, having also attended ‘training the teachers’ course as well as being an ‘e-tutor’ for the Royal College of Surgeons.
Mr Benjamin has performed over 8,000 ENT surgical procedures including over 600 major ear operations and nearly 350 paediatric airway and over 5,000 general paediatric procedures. He is employed as a consultant ENT surgeon at Charing Cross Hospital, providing a full adult ENT service with a specialist interest in otology and ear surgery. He provides a full paediatric ENT service at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital where he is lead clinician. He holds the post of honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College, London, with duties in teaching and lecturing medical students, and fellow surgeons.
Biography
Mr Jonathan Bernstein is a consultant surgeon specialising in head and neck surgical oncology and ear, nose and throat surgery. From London originally, he qualified from Bristol University in 2002 and trained in Bristol, Manchester and Toronto, Canada.
After completing his UK training, Mr Bernstein undertook a three-year comprehensive fellowship programme in head & neck surgical oncology, endocrine head & neck surgery, and reconstructive microsurgery at the University of Toronto. He has undertaken research in head and neck cancer biomarkers, functional imaging, surgical technology and clinical outcomes, and has a doctorate in head and neck oncology research.

Biography
Mr Paul Chatrath was educated at Cambridge University (MA) and completed higher ear, nose and throat (ENT) training in London with rhinology fellowships abroad in Amsterdam and Chicago. He has also attained a higher research degree (MD). His clinical interests are in rhinology, sinus surgery and rhinoplasty as well as paediatric ENT. Professor Christoph Lees qualified from Guy’s Hospital, London in 1990 obtaining subspecialty accreditation in fetal-maternal medicine under Prof Kypros Nicolaides at the Harris Birthright Centre for Fetal Medicine, King’s College Hospital, London. He was research fellow and lecturer for Prof Stuart Campbell at King’s College and St George’s Hospitals. In 2001 he established the fetal medicine unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge and moved to Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital as Head of Fetal Medicine in 2013. He was made Visiting Professor at KU Leuven, Belgium, in 2010. Christoph is an international authority on fetal assessment and in particular the use of Doppler ultrasound to assess the health of the baby. He leads research in this area, scanning in labour, and non-invasive fetal surgery. The latter work led to a £2.2 million grant from the Medical Research Council for first in human studies of high-intensity focused ultrasound in 2017. His collaborations include as chief investigator for the TRUFFLE Study 2002 and as co-founder of the International Working Group of Maternal Haemodynamics. Other posts include board member, International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG) 2015 onwards, chairman of the ISUOG Doppler and vascular imaging group and member of the ISUOG Safety Committee. Mr Mark Ferguson
Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat SurgeonBiography
Mr Mark Ferguson is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He graduated from Imperial College and completed his Specialist ENT training in London working at The Royal National Throat, Nose, and Ear, Great Ormond Street, and Charing Cross Hospitals. After completing his training he won the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons post-CCT fellowship in Rhinology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust through national competitive interview. During this fellowship Mr Ferguson gained experience of advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, anterior skull base surgery and complex nasal reconstructions. He has also furthered his experience in this field by visiting several other international renown centres.
Mr Ferguson completed his PhD in Molecular Oncology at Barts Cancer Institute and continues to play an active role both in translational and clinical research. He has published more than 20 peer reviewed publications, 2 book chapters and given more than 20 international or national presentations. He has won numerous prizes for his work.
Mr Ferguson has a specialist interest in Rhinology, sinus surgery (including balloon sinuplasty) and Rhinoplasty.
Biography
Mr Jonny Harcourt studied at Oxford University and St Thomas’s Hospital Medical School, as well as at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He has undertaken overseas fellowships in Copenhagen and Zurich.
Biography
Dr Mohamed Hariri qualified in Damascus before coming to the UK for post-graduate training. He worked in ENT for ten years before sub-specialising in audiovestibular medicine dealing with non-surgical ear complaints namley hearing loss, dizziness, and tinnitus in children and adults.
