Biography
Tom Bourne is adjunct professor at Imperial College London, consultant gynaecologist at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital and a visiting professor at KU Leuven Belgium. He is an internationally renowned authority on the use of ultrasound in gynaecology and in the management of problems in early pregnancy.
Professor Bourne has edited six books, published over 300 papers and spoken at numerous international meetings. He is board member of the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and steers several international trials.
He sat on the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound panel developing guidelines for diagnosing miscarriage in the USA (2012), and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) guidelines panel for diagnosing ovarian cancer (2014). In 2014 he was awarded an honorary fellowship of the AIUM.
His expertise lies in using ultrasound to make a clear diagnosis, whilst being able to reassure people they have nothing seriously wrong if nothing is seen on a scan. If a problem is found he works closely with other specialist gynaecologists such as Christina Fotopoulou so that should surgery be required, it is carried out by the appropriate sub-specialist and so ensure the best outcome.
Biography
Dr Digesu’s area of expertise and research studies include urogynecology; pelvic reconstructive surgery, chronic pelvic pain & bladder pain syndrome ( interstitial cystitis), neurourology & neuromodulation, urodynamics, 2D/3D ultrasound imaging, pelvic organ prolapse, child birth injuries, assessment and management of female sexual dysfunction, chronic urinary retention & urinary incontinence resistant to conventional therapy, management of postoperative complications & complex pelvic floor dysfunctions following conventional vaginal surgery and transvaginal mesh surgery and overactive bladder syndrome.
He offers the full range of conservative, medical and surgical treatments for pelvic floor disorders (prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, female sexual dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain) as well as minimally invasive treatment of uterovaginal prolapse using keyhole surgery for those women who would like to preserve their uterus thus avoiding hysterectomy. He has also received advanced extensive training in vaginal reconstruction following childbirth injuries and has a wide surgical experience in cosmetic vaginal surgery such as labiaplasty, vaginal tightening, female rejuvenation (vaginoplasty).
He has published extensively in this field and he is author of more than 80 articles in peer review journals. In view of his expertise and research he covers important academic duties both nationally & internationally and he is a well-known invited speaker worldwide in national and international conferences.
Dr Digesu is the programme director of the London masterclass in female pelvic anatomy, urogynaecology & reconstructive pelvic surgery and he is a tutor & mentor at several basic and advanced training courses in Europe using cadavers, video demonstrations, live surgery, animal models, simulators as well as pelvic mannequins for clinicians and surgeons who are keen to improve their surgical skills in all areas of Urogynaecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. He also conducts national and international workshops to teach the doctors and midwives how to identify and repair perineal tears after childbirth.

Dr Christine Ekechi specialises in early pregnancy and acute gynaecology care. Using her experience in ultrasound and outpatient management of benign gynaecological conditions, her focus is on the provision of patient-focused, accessible, high quality care convenient to the busy lifestyles that women lead.
Dr Ekechi has a specialised interest in ultrasound in early pregnancy and acute gynaecology and in the hysteroscopic management of fibroids. She is also an accredited colposcopist and is an advocate for cervical screening and awareness. Dr Ekechi graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Medical School and holds a master’s degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has also worked with the United Nations in New York.
Her qualifications include BSCCP, MSc, MRCOG, BMedSci and MBBS.

Mr Fernando was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a Subspecialist in Urogynaecology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (St Mary’s Hospital) in 2006. He is also an honorary senior lecturer and an undergraduate personal tutor at Imperial College, London. He is a member of the RCOG Scientific Advisory Committee from 2018 and was a member of the RCOG Guidelines Committee (2014-2017) and was an editorial board member of the RCOG e-learning programme StratOG (2011-2014).
He is a member of the International Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FIGO) working group on pelvic floor dysfunction and ICS Ethics Committee. He also conducts national and international workshops to teach the doctors and midwives how to identify and repair perineal tears after childbirth. He is a guest lecturer at many national and international conferences.

Biography
Christina Fotopoulou is a consultant gynaecological oncologist at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital, London. She was trained in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Charité University Hospital of Berlin with a sub-specialism in gynaecological oncology.
Prof Fotopoulou was the leading consultant and vice director of the Clinic for Gynecology at the Charité in Berlin – one of the largest accredited centres for gynecological cancer in Germany. She has also been the principal coordinator of the European Competence Centre for Ovarian Cancer, which was created in 2007 in Berlin.
Her principal area of clinical practice relates to ultraradical surgery for advanced and relapsed ovarian cancer and in general advanced gynecological cancer. She is also trained in undertaking reconstructive surgery of cancer patients after cancer surgery.
Among her research projects she has investigated the implementation of targeted therapies in advanced gynaecological cancers and their implications on surgical practice.
She has broad experience in national and international clinical and surgical trials in gynaecological cancers and is involved in the german, british and european committees for guidelines development in ovarian cancer.

Dr Sadah Ghaem-Maghami qualified from The London Hospital Medical School (University of London) in 1990 and was awarded a PhD in Immunology in 2001. She undertook specialist training in northwest Thames region in obstetrics and gynaecology which was accredited by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2004.
She undertook sub-specialist training in gynaecological oncology at the northwest London gynaecological cancer centre.
Dr Ghaem-Maghami has been a BSCCP accredited colposcopist since 2004. She has been a consultant in gynaecological oncology since 2006 at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Biography
Ms Deborah Gould trained at St Mary’s hospital between 1982 and 1988. She has been a consultant at St Mary’s Hospital since October 2002 and chief of service for gynaecology and reproductive medicine since 2011.
Ms Gould has a special interest in early pregnancy issues.
