Biography
Dr Christina George is a consultant dermatologist working at Charing Cross Hospital. She trained at UCL Medical School, undertaking an intercalated BSc degree in Clinical Sciences with First Class honours. She has also been awarded a distinction in a Clinical Dermatology postgraduate diploma at Queen Mary University of London.
Dr George completed her dermatology specialist training at leading teaching hospitals in London. She has presented her work at international academic meetings, and has authored publications in a number of high impact medical journals. She has won numerous awards for her research and presentations in the field of dermatology.
She has a special interest in eczema, and leads the severe eczema service at Imperial. She also enjoys medical education, and is the undergraduate lead for year 5 dermatology at Imperial College Medical School.
Biography
Dr Derrick Phillips is a consultant dermatologist working at St Mary’s Hospital. He trained at UCL Medical School and undertook an intercalated BSc degree in Medical Physics and Bioengineering, achieving a double merit award in the former and First Class Honours in the latter.
Dr Phillips completed his dermatology specialist training in the Merseyside deanery. He has published in scientific journals, presented at international conferences and is a past recipient of the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology registrar prize.
Dr Phillips is a spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation and is regularly featured in the media.
Dr Phillips has expertise in general dermatology (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea and other rashes), skin cancer and skin surgery.
Biography
Dr Anastasia Therianou is a consultant dermatologist at St Mary’s hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust and an undergraduate lead for dermatology at Imperial College Medical School.
She carried out dermatology specialist training in leading centres such as St John’s Institute of Dermatology and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She was awarded a PhD by Tufts University in Boston, USA and University of Athens, Greece for her thesis on psoriasis.
Her research has been published in several top scientific journals and she presents her work at international conferences. Moreover, she has been elected as a member of the communications committee at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV).
Dr Therianou’s areas of interest are hair and nail disorders and skin cancers/surgery. She also sees patients with general skin disorders including acne, psoriasis, eczema. She performs skin surgery for benign lesions and skin cancers.

Dr Sarah Wakelin is a former senior registrar in dermatology at the cutaneous allergy clinic, St John’s Institute of Dermatology, London.
